Course Overview

In this course, you will read the required books and move through the online lessons in your free time. In lab, you will have time to practice teach one another. Students may opt to submit videos in lieu of in-person labs by attending interactive webinars. Labs meet monthly, although in person attendance is preferred, but not required. We are here to hold space for your flexible learning style.



To Do: Attend Sangha Labs to hone your craft in creating workshops, and submit a recording of yours with your petition to graduate. I have provided a sample of one of my workshops in this lesson, for your reference.

Students will be guided to offer workshops during sangha labs for your chosen age group. You are not expected to offer workshops on each age group, but will learn from others in your cohort to span every age group.

  • Preschool ages 2-4
  • Early Elementary ages 5-8 
  • Upper elementary ages 9-11 
  • Middle school ages 12-13 
  • High school ages 14-15 

TO DO: Each student must present a workshop recording for each of the learning objectives on the syllabus that is trauma-informed, and includes an intention, class plan, and meditation. Student will demonstrate mastery gained over the ten modular sangha labs and present workshops on the following learning objectives:

  • General Background in the Specialty Area Techniques
  • Training and Practice
  • Teaching Methodology
  • Anatomy and Physiology Yoga Philosophy
  • Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers
  • Practicum
  • Practicum Elective

The spirit of this program is to ensure students have experience offering workshops, and may do so at an array of venues such as yoga retreats, field trips, and studio settings. Many Edge Alum have gone on to open studio and run yoga teacher trainings of their own. Make this work your own, as it will remain your intellectual information and be available for your future use.
