Barre Yoga with Torisandra - Notes


Introduction: who she is and information about barre


Warm-up:


Inhale, come up on releve, arms up

Exhale, heels down, arms down (modification - don’t lift heels, one arm up while leaving other hand on barre lightly for support)


2nd position, arms up, releve

Exhale down to goddess pose, arms down


Holding at top, toes in

Come to flat back (option to move hands to hips)

All the way down, slight bend in knees


Slowly roll all the way up

Arms up

Exhale, bring arms out to “t”

Moving to half back

Forward fold

Rag doll


Roll up to standing

Shoulder rolls

Curl forward and come back out (repeated)

Alternate shoulder rolls


Side bend on both sides

Cactus arms to upward salute

Forward fold


Heel toe feet out

Bend into right leg, left arm to sky opening chest 

Bend into left leg, right arm to sky

Bend both knees then straighten legs

Yoga Sequence:


Move down to mat

Table top (roll up mat for additional padding for knees)

Barre Sequence:


1st position, releve, plie and straighten (option to have heels grounded or bring arms up overhead for balance challenge)


Face barre, releve and heels come back down


Flat back, gentle touch on barre

Left foot back, lift up and tap down

Move toes in circle - both directions


Flat back, peddle out feet

Right foot back, lift up and tap down

Move toes in circle - both directions

Peddle out feet


Right arm to barre

Left leg lifts

Left arm comes up and crunches in with leg

Turning leg in and out (arch toward ceiling)
